We provide about 3,000 people with employment in our companies in Europe, ensuring that they and their families receive a solid income. Currently, we have people from 29 nations working together in our company. In addition, we offer business opportunities to people with disabilities or with low professional qualifications.
Being a family-run business, we identify with our company and attach great importance to respectful cooperation based on the foundation of trust. We would like to share the passion for what we do with our employees. This means that we take responsibility for our workforce and rely on long-term relationships.
Reconciling family and career - we understand this wish very well and do everything we can to make it possible. For example, we offer mothers and fathers a wide range of highly-customised part-time models (which, by the way, are also popular for a smooth transition into retirement).
At our Rosenheim site, we were awarded the "Familienlöwen" (Family Lion) prize in the category of larger companies, distinguishing us as a particularly family-friendly company.
We take our employees' health and well-being very seriously. That is why we have company medical care at all our locations. Extensive preventive measures help us to remain healthy and fit: regular noise level measurements and ergonomic checks at the workplace, first aid courses or support for a wide range of sporting activities.
The coronavirus is currently dominating our coexistence, and it is having a major impact on our coexistence and, as such, also on us as a company. From the very beginning, our top priority has been to ensure that our employees and, of course, our customers stay healthy.
We have taken many precautions at our locations and in our stores. We keep ourselves up-to-date on the latest developments and maintain regular contact with the local health authorities. This allows us to react quickly to changing circumstances and to keep our customers and employees safe and provide them with a good feeling.
Special hygiene and safety measures have been planned and implemented:
The majority of our junior staff were also trained at Gabor. Every year, we offer many young people a vocational training place, in addition to the prospect of further professional development. Since its foundation, more than 2,900 apprentices worldwide have successfully completed their training at Gabor.
The trainee quota at the company headquarters in Rosenheim is more than 10 per cent. We regularly offer our trainees permanent employment contracts. Many former apprentices are found in our top management level. 60 per cent of the employees at the Rosenheim headquarters have also completed an apprenticeship in the company.
Training at Gabor is of a very high quality. We have already received several awards for this, including the nationally-awarded "Ausbildungs-Ass" prize, as a company that is particularly committed to training and fostering young people.
On our training website we offer professional training; what our trainees say about their training, and what else they experience during their apprenticeship at Gabor. Find out more about training at Gabor now!
