The aim of this privacy statement is to make you aware of the data that will be collected when you visit our website and use the services offered there, and to explain how we will then process or use your data. We would also like to inform you about the relevant technical and organisational measures taken to protect your data, as well as the rights you have in relation to your data. Your data will be used and processed by GABOR Shoes AG (Marienberger Str. 31, D-83024 Rosenheim).
GABOR Shoes AG (Marienberger Str. 31, D-83024 Rosenheim) is responsible for the data processing described in this privacy statement; this makes us the “controller”, as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The term “personal data” is used in this privacy statement to refer to information about the factual or personal circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. This particularly includes names, phone numbers, addresses and any basic data provided to GABOR Shoes AG.
Your personal data may be collected in various ways, such as when you contact us via email.
Use of data for advertising purposes
We will use your data to communicate with you regarding specific products or marketing campaigns and to recommend products and services that you might be interested in.
Unless we are processing your data on the basis of your consent, you may object to the use of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time, either as a whole or for individual marketing activities. You can do this by sending your objection in text form (e.g. email, letter) to either of the addresses indicated in Section 1.
If you give your prior consent in accordance with point (a) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR, we will use a piece of technology developed by Criteo SA (Rue Blanche, 75009 Paris, France) to collect, store and analyse pseudonymised information about your surfing habits on this website, so that we can display targeted advertising. Criteo will use an algorithm to analyse your surfing habits and subsequently display targeted product recommendations as personalised advertising banners on other websites (known as “publishers”). Under no circumstances will the anonymised data allow individual website visitors to be personally identified. The data collected by Criteo will only ever be used to improve our advertising. We also use the cross-device tracking technology developed by Criteo. Criteo will use this to recognise you on different devices and show you interesting ads on other devices (e.g. your mobile phone). Your data will not be used for other purposes or disclosed to third parties.
If you wish to revoke your consent to Criteo tracking, you may assert your rights as a data subject at any time and object to the collection of data and the creation of pseudonymised user profiles with future effect. You can do this by using the following opt-out cookie: https://www.criteo.com/de/privacy/.
Your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected.
Google Marketing Platform
In order to constantly display interesting and targeted product ads to Internet users, some of the tools used by GABOR include retargeting and remarketing. This means that anyone who visits our website will be shown suitable advertising after leaving our webpages. For this purpose, our website users must be recognised outside our own website. Their surfing habits are also taken into account. GABOR uses the technologies available on the Google Marketing Platform to place ads on the Internet.
In accordance with point (a) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR, this website will only use Campaign Manager, an online marketing tool developed by Google, with your prior consent.
As part of this tool, cookies will be used to display targeted ads, to compile better campaign performance reports and to stop you from seeing the same ads on several occasions. Google will use a cookie ID to record the ads that have been shown in each browser and thereby prevent them from being displayed multiple times.
In addition, Campaign Manager may use cookie IDs to track conversions related to ad requests. This will be the case, for example, if you have previously seen a Campaign Manager ad and then access our website via the same browser and make a purchase there. According to Google, Campaign Manager cookies do not contain any personal data.
The marketing tools used on this website will enable your browser to automatically establish a direction connection with the Google server. As we have no control over the scope of the data collected by this tool or the further use of such data by Google, we can only inform you to the best of our knowledge. By integrating Campaign Manager, Google will be notified that you have accessed a specific part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are a registered user of a service provided by Google, it will be able to match the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered and/or logged in to a Google account, the service provider may still be able to identify and save your IP address.
Thanks to the Campaign Manager cookies (DoubleClick Floodlight), we will also be able to see whether you perform certain actions on our website after opening or clicking on one of our display / video ads on Google or on another platform via Campaign Manager (conversion tracking). Campaign Manager will use this cookie to identify the content you have interacted with on our website and then send you targeted advertising at a later date.
If you wish to revoke your consent to tracking via the Google Marketing Platform, you can do this in various ways:
- By changing your browser software settings – you can block third-party cookies to stop receiving third-party ads;
- By disabling cookies for conversion tracking – you can configure your browser to block cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com” (see https://www.google.de/settings/ads), but this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies;
- By disabling targeted ads from providers in the “About Ads” self-regulatory campaign – you can do this at http://www.aboutads.info/choices, but this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies;
- By permanently disabling ad personalisation in Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome at: http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin; or
- By opening and installing the browser add-on via the following website: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Whenever you access the GABOR website, your usage data will be transmitted by your browser and stored in server log files. These log files will contain the following data: the date and time of access, the name of the pages accessed, your IP address, the referrer URL (the website from which you have been redirected to our website), the volume of data transmitted, and your browser’s product and version information.
Your IP address will be deleted or anonymised after each session. If your IP address is anonymised, it will be changed in such a way that specific details about your personal or factual circumstances can no longer be matched to you as an identified or identifiable natural person (or only with disproportionate amounts of time, money and human effort).
This data will be processed on the basis of point (f) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR and in the interest of reliably displaying our website and minimising faults.
These log file records will be evaluated anonymously to improve the GABOR website and make it more user-friendly, to accelerate our troubleshooting process, and to control our server capacities.
In order to constantly improve and optimise the offer, GABOR uses so-called tracking technologies with your prior consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) a) DSGVO. The services of Google Analytics and Matomo Analytics are used for this purpose.
Google Analytics is a service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”).
The information generated on your use of our website will generally be transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information on behalf of GABOR to analyse your use of the website, compile reports on website activities and provide GABOR with other services related to the use of this website and the Internet. The data can be processed to create pseudonymous user profiles.
This will not involve the transfer of your personal data (e.g. name, email address, unique device ID of your smartphone, payment information).
GABOR always activates IP anonymisation when using Google Analytics. This means that Google will truncate your IP address before transferring data within member states of the European Union or the European Economic Area. Your full IP address will only be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there in exceptional cases.
If you do not wish to be tracked in any way, please note that you will have to opt out of each version of Google Analytics separately. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to disable tracking for both versions in one.
Disabling Google Analytics (Version 3.0)
If you would like to disable Version 3.0 of Google Analytics, please install the add-on for your browser here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
More detailed information on installing and deinstalling the add-on can be found on the relevant help pages for your browser. You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on the link below. This will install an opt-out cookie to prevent your data from being collected when you visit our website in the future. Please click here to disable Google Analytics.
The add-on to disable Google Analytics may no longer work as intended following browser and operating system updates. More information on managing Chrome add-ons can be found here: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142064.
If you are not using Chrome, please check with your browser provider (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer) whether add-ons will work properly in the browser version you are using.
If you use the browser add-on to disable Universal Analytics, this may not prevent data from being sent to the website or other web analytics services.
More information on Google’s use of data for advertising purposes, possible settings and opt-out tools can be found on Google’s pages:
Your data will be processed on the basis of point (f) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR (overriding interests) and in the interest of analysing the use of our website and evaluating the results to adapt and optimise our website accordingly.
The data collected by Google Analytics will be deleted after 26 months.
Disabling Google Analytics (Version 4.0)
If you wish to disable tracking via Google Analytics in Version 4.0: Please click here to disable Google Analytics.
Otherwise, please refer to the instructions for disabling Google Analytics Version 4.0.
We use Matomo Analytics, a service provided by InnoCraft Ltd, to analyse the use of our website. The information generated on your use of this website will be stored on our server in Germany. Your IP address will be anonymised.
However, you can stop your actions on our website from being analysed and linked. This will safeguard your privacy but also prevent GABOR from learning from your actions and improving the user-friendliness of our website for you and other users.
Your visit to our website is currently being recorded by Matomo Analytics. Please untick this box to opt out:

The following data is transferred to the OSM servers during the display: the website you have visited and the information you have provided on street, postcode, city and country.
The legal basis for the processing of your data in relation to the "OSM" service is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 letter f) DSGVO (legitimate interest in data processing).
