The favourite shoe of German women is a fashion mule from Gabor. The top ten also include another two models from the Rosenheim-based manufacturer, occupying the fourth and seventh places.
With the German shoe index (Deutscher Schuh Index), the first-ever bestseller list for women’s, men’s and children’s shoes has come into existence. The footwear equivalent to well-known book bestseller lists, it provides a helpful guide for consumers.
The bestseller list was drawn up by means of an independent vote by 600 shoe retailers operating 3,000 stores in Germany. The winning shoe in the women’s category is one by Gabor, the key to its appeal being its fashionable platform sole, cork-look heel and soft footbed. A Gabor model featuring a trendy plimsoll-style sole made it to fourth place, while seventh place was taken by a feminine ballerina in soft, glove-like leather – also by Gabor.
“There are hundreds of vendors in the shoe industry offering many thousands of models. Gabor makes it into the top ten three times. That shows that shoe fashion from Rosenheim sets the fashion all over Europe,” comments a delighted Achim Gabor, CEO of the Rosenheim-based specialist in women’s shoes.
A press conference which attracted keen attendance was held at the prize-giving ceremony. Besides all the specialist press, ZDF, RTL, Hitradio FFH and FAZ newspaper also covered the event.
