An important role is also played by muted blue – from jeans blue to very dark night-blue – including the colour family of Fumo shades. Grey hues are here and there livened up with a touch of rosé, whilst black and white lose influence.
Types of shoes
Gabor has further extended its successful ballerina range. Alongside sporty models, some of which feature removable insoles, Gabor also offers fine ballerina designs with classic soles, some with opulent floral ornamentation.
The new espadrilles are luxuriously interpreted. Pumps continue to be available in various versions, round or pointed, with heels as high as 80 mm.
The trade is keen on classic all-day shoes and barefoot shoes plus college and moccasin models. Sneakers, too, have their established place in the Gabor collection and are given a new look with lavish, multi-coloured soles.
The open shoe range includes sandals, Flamenco models and peep-toes plus trendy clogs. Summer boots round off the palette.
All-in-all, the range provided by womens shoes specialist Gabor for the Spring/Summer 2012 season includes around 400 different models and looks like being the largest on the German market.
The materials
Materials are of ever greater importance when it comes to expressing a fashionable look. They are mostly distinguished by their naturalness and by their casual, sporty touch. However, coarse used-look designs are no longer to be seen. Matt, naturally grained leather and washed or brushed models are an important element of the Gabor collection. Nubuk and slightly roughened materials abound. Smooth leathers are lent an interesting look with a special finish that creates a white lime effect.
These leathers are augmented with finer leather types, sometimes with patent leather.
Ornamentation and appliqués
Metal and rivets are sparingly used, instead there are leather appliqués and flowers, some augmented with paste gem or wooden beads.
Shoe shapes
In general, shoe shapes are given a more elegant style. Peaked designs can be found in the fashion segment, the commercial segment is defined by round and foot-friendly, asymmetrical shapes.
Soles / heels
Espadrille soles with braided or bast fibre covering continue to be important, as are cork soles. Many shoe types sport wedges, especially sandals and pumps. Platform shoes and wedge platform shoes, some featuring a vamp to create a finer look, are frequently to be seen.
The fashion segment either offers high heels or completely flat shapes. Medium-high shoes, on the other hand, play a major role in the commercial segment.
Overall, more flexible soles are in demand, Gabor even offers platform shoes and pumps with soft soles.
Features
Alongside choice, supple uppers and soft, padded inners, functional removable insoles and cushioning outsoles provide the wearer with superb comfort, even in the more elegant city segment.
Special designs, for example Sacchetto, make sure shoes are especially comfortable to wear and super flexible. Unlined ballerinas and pumps delight with even more softness. Models with air chamber soles, in line with the hovercraft principle, additionally improve feel and comfort.
Fit
Gabor’s claim is to provide the ideal, perfectly fitting shoe for almost any women and any foot. This is why there are Gabor shoes in different widths (F / G / H). Oversizes up to size 11 (46) are also on offer. The fit concept “Best-Fitting” is a special feature. Normal width F has had its forefoot tread surface widened, resulting in additional space and increased comfort.
rollingsoft
In Spring/Summer 2012 too, Gabor once again offers its “rollingsoft” brand range with specially rounded roll-off sole. These shoes combine health aspects with fashionable flair. They aid joints with a gentle gait and are even instrumental in relieving back problems. In addition, side stabilisers reduce the danger of twisting ankles. Rollingsoft shoes come in various models, all featuring high-quality leathers and, often, removable footbeds too.
